Thank you for visiting my Wedding Photography page. My name’s Ian, I’ve been a Wedding Photographer for well over 10 years now. I’ve been lucky enough to work at numerous Amazing Wedding Venues around South Yorkshire and always find the best spots for beautiful portraits of the Bride and Groom. I like to think of my Wedding Clients as friends, after all, when your wedding day arrives we will have met at least 2 or 3 times and will have most likely had a portrait session too, by this time you’ll both be feeling a lot more relaxed in front of the camera.Upon your initial enquiry with Ian Moody Photography we’ll arrange a first meeting to discuss your wedding and which of the Photography Packages would be best for you. I’ll come along with some sample albums for you to look at and we’ll talk about exactly what you want from your wedding images. Please take a moment to browse the rest of my site and then contact me to discuss how best we can capture the most amazing images from your wedding day.
Melissa and Paul wanted a Wedding Photographer to capture the whole of their Barnsley Wedding from start to finish so I was with them from early morning. I love to see some of the preparations on the morning of the wedding, there are so many emotions to capture. I particularly like the shot below of Melissa’s dad looking through the photo album.
After the morning in the company of Melissa and her bridesmaids we headed down the road to St. Pauls Church in Monk Bretton. Another sunny day greeted us so we had the chance to capture plenty of the images Melissa and Paul requested at their pre-wedding meeting.
At one of the customary pre-wedding meetings I got a tour of the wedding cars they would be using for their wedding. They own a chaufeur driven wedding car hire business. All beautiful cars, check them out at Amore Wedding Cars if you haven’t already.
As I waited for their arrival at the church in Rotherham I was thankful the weather played it’s part, it doesn’t always make or break a day but it’s nice to have it on side.
As the Rolls Royce pulled up the drive it looked spectacular with Katrina waiting on the back seat.
After the ceremony was the short drive to Sitwell park golf club for the evening celebrations. A great venue and, as I’ve found before, golf clubs do tend to have some pleasant grounds in which to walk and photograph.
A Barnsley Wedding in the Town Hall is always a great choice. It’s one of the most beautiful register offices I’ve visited it has always looked the part when I’ve been there.
Barnsley Town Hall Wedding
Sharon and Steve were there in August of 2014 for their wedding and it was a beautiful day weather wise too.
We got some beautiful images of Sharon and Steve inside the Town Hall.
Barnsley Town Hall and register office is a beautiful place inside, the balcony and sweeping staircase lends itself very well to beautiful wedding imagery, and Sharon and Steve were more than happy to help get some beautiful images for their wedding album.
I’ve visited St. Johns Church in Penistone many times over the years, it is my ‘local’ after all. Laura and Simon decided on this as their wedding venue as it’s where Laura grew up.
Weddings are important occasions for everyone involved, as well as a great excuse to gather lots of family and friends together, some will of course think of important people who couldn’t make it. With this in mind, Laura had a little secret hidden in her bouquet, a small brooch with a picture of her grandparents. A small but very thoughtful touch I thought.
The Wedding Reception was at the beautiful rural location of The Dog and Partridge Country Inn and Hotel.
A beautiful wortley hall wedding in sheffield
Wortley Hall is a beautiful setting for a wedding. I know the grounds well as I live fairly close but until the wedding of Lauren and Shaun I hadn’t had the pleasure of working there. And what a place to photograph! Amazing interiors everywhere you look in this stately home, awesome staircases lend themselves very well to Beautiful Wedding Photography.
The accommodation rooms were just as good, with some large windows allowing great views of some of the 26 acres of gardens and woodland. Lauren was a great bride to photograph, willing to try a few poses in this stunning location and coming up with some ideas of her own too. Just check out the balloons later on.
The gardens at Wortley Hall are equally impressive. Because the ceremony and reception were all catered for on site we had plenty of time to wander some of the extensive gardens with Lauren and Shaun.
Black and White for impact.
When photographing a wedding I’m generally drawn to the colours, I’ve seen so many amazing colour schemes and themes for weddings that really catch the eye. It can take a long time getting a theme together, deciding on the colours is just a small part of it, how about names or themes for each of the tables for example?
Anyway, sometimes it’s nice to remove all the colours and see what you’re left with. You can see things slightly differently in a Black and White Wedding Photograph. Your eye may be drawn to peoples expressions more, the texture or detail on the wedding dress.
Take a look at the short video below from a recent Wedding I had the pleasure of working on in Sheffield recently.
